When her mother arranges her marriage to a baron whose previous wife died under mysterious circumstances, Isolde knows she'll never return to her new home. After stowing away to Elondre one last time, Isolde has a perilous decision to make:
Risk the Elondrans' and her new family's blood being spilled, or succumb to a marriage to the baron.
To Bloom in Winter is the novella prequel to The Magpie's Daughter, starting twelve years prior to the beginning of the fantasy novel.
Warning: There is no happily-ever-after, but there's a lot of information and characters from the world of The Magpie's Daughter that are reflected and expounded upon in books I-III of the Lineage Series.
